From the reviews
Dr. Welander and his team are the best! Dr. Welander explained all of my options, then he listened to my concerns. I wanted to proceed with the most conservative, least invasive procedure possible. I was concerned about having armpit lymph nodes taken out and the possibility of adverse effects.
Dr. Welander and Kim Pearson are two of the nicest people I have ever met. Coming into an unexpected diagnosis is very scary, but I always felt like they would do anything to make sure I felt comfortable and heard through the whole process.
The care that I received from Dr. Welander was outstanding. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, he clearly explained my options, was encouraging, and supported my decision. The surgery (double mastectomy) and recovery went very well. In my case, I experienced no pain, only a little discomfort.
The Breast Program at PRHC is top-notch! I couldn't ask for better care than I received from Dr. Welander and Kim, his Breast Health Nurse Navigator. I felt like I was the only thing that mattered while in Dr. Welander's care.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
