What patients say again and again
“He explained everything to me, listened to my concerns and answered all questions.”
“I would recommend anyone see this dr he knows his stuff and cares for his patients”
From the reviews
Dr. James T. Thompson is a highly skilled plastic surgeon. He is also caring. Even after he had performed an 8hr10min surgery, he came back that evening to check on my progress. The nurse needed to call him at 3am for something minor & he was still very kind. He even came by the next day to check on my progress.
Loved my experience with the Carilion Cosmetic Center!! Professional staff, cheery attitudes and Dr. Thompson is extremely professional. He is a skilled surgeon and treats his patients very well. He is levels above Dr. Silberblatt in professionalism. I would highly recommend this doctor.
My daughter was a patient of Dr Thompson in NC at Baptist. She was a premie born with stickler syndrome and pierre robin sequence and Dr Thompson done a jaw distractor and her cleft palate repair as a baby and she's now 10 yrs old. To say that he is missed is an understatement.
My experience with Dr. Thompson and his office staff was all top-notch!!! He explained everything to me, listened to my concerns and answered all questions. The nurses and office staff are pleasant and respectful and a joy to be around. The plastic surgery work done was meticulous and I am very pleased.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
