From the reviews
After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I was faced with tough decisions. I researched some plastic surgeons and was very impressed with Dr. Wimmers' background and education. Upon meeting him, I was confident I was making the right choice.
Dr. Wimmers and his team handled my fifth, and hopefully final, breast reconstruction surgery, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude on their incredible work. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer over 15 years ago and since then, it's been a long road with several reconstruction surgeries.
I’m a physician and work at the same facility as Dr. Wimmers. He very well may have saved my brothers amputated fingers. This wonderful surgeon spent 7 hours under the microscope putting together bits of fingers that Temple U was going to give up and chop off.
Dr. Wimmers truly took so much time to help me fully understand my options and the procedures for breast reconstruction. When I had complications he was there for me 100 percent. He is easy to talk with and is extremely patient. I am so happy with my reconstruction. I never imagined it would look this good.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
