About this practice
From the reviews
I recently had a face and neck lift. I don't live close to Durham so had a face to face with the doctor the day before my scheduled surgery. The staff and Dr. Riefkohl greeted me warmly and I left that meeting feeling comfortable about the next day's surgery. Everything went so smoothly. I experienced no pain at all.
I was very pleased when I went to see him which was about three years ago. He was very straightforward and honest with me, and I thought that was very honorable. He suggested at my age and skin type with sun damage, I not do a procedure, but continue with what I was doing with minor procedures.
Dr. Riefkohl performed upper and lower eyelid surgery and a chemical peel in 2001 and it was great for many years over a decade . Now I’m 59 and my eyes started becoming hooded again because aging sets in. I will see Dr.
Thanks to the doctor and his caring staff. I had a great experience and am very pleased with my results.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
