From the reviews
I would recommend Dr. Swelstad and his staff 100%. This is the first surgical experience I have had, and it could not have gone better. Dr. Swelstad was professional, kind and warm, made me feel at ease, and was patient to answer all my questions.
I can not put into words how much I love Dr. Swelstad! I went to him in a tragic state after a double mastectomy and asked that he work wonders in order to repair my chest. He went above and beyond. He was compassionate, friendly, informative.
Dr. Swelstad is very kind and listens well. I took my son to him to fix a scar he had from an accident by his eye. He took the time to answer all of my questions, examine my sons face, and also determined which way he would do the stitches to best suit his face.
Dr. Swelstad was the surgeon that performed my reduction in 2015! He did an amazing job of giving me exactly what I needed. He listened carefully and with much discretion about my needs.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
