From the reviews
I had weight loss surgery in April 2014 and lost over half my body weight. I then developed anorexia and reached an unhealthy low. Thankfully, I was able to get back to a healthy weight. Through all of that trauma to my body, I had a lot of excess skin.
Dr. Coots had his practice in Sioux Falls, SD before moving to Missoula. I was diagnosed with Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans cancer in my scalp. I was referred to Dr. Coots. He was an outstanding doctor and person to have for the surgeries that followed.
Dr. Coots' bed side manner is amazing. He took the time to answer all my questions and I didn't feel rushed so he could hurry on to the next patient. He went into detail about everything. I've had Botox and lip injections done by numerous doctors, but definitely will be getting everything done by Dr. Coots from now on.
I would gladly give Dr Coots more stars, if only they were available! He repaired a rather large pressure sore on my bum, through a course of six surgeries, over three months.
Researching a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is major surgery with real risks and a recovery that usually runs several weeks — this page is a starting point for finding a surgeon, not medical advice. The most useful next step is a consultation, where a surgeon reviews your health history, examines you, talks through your options, and gives a personal quote. Bring questions and don't rush the decision.
Questions worth asking: Are you board-certified in plastic surgery (and can I verify it)? Where would you operate, and is the facility accredited? Can I see before-and-after photos of your own patients? What are the risks and the realistic recovery timeline for me? What's your revision policy if something needs adjusting? Whatever a listing says, always verify certification directly with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) at abplasticsurgery.org, and discuss your candidacy, risks, and recovery with the surgeon.
